Vilamoura
Vilamoura is the heart of golf on the Algarve. This is where you will find the best golfing location in all of Europe and it is still the place all golfers want to experience at some stage.
With the famous Marina providing numerous restaurants and bars, unrivalled nightlife and the top class hotels, there is really no where better to base your-self for a few days golf.
And then you have courses of the calibre of Victoria, The Old Course and Millennium on your doorstep along with Quinto da Lago North & South, Laranjal and Vale do Lobo Ocean/Royal within 15 minutes.
If you are looking for something slightly more tranquil, why not try the fabulous Pestana Vila Sol on the outskirts of Vilamoura or even the Dona Filipa Hotel which is based in the Vale do Lobo resort around 15 minutes from Vilamoura.

East & West Algarve
The Algarve has some spectacular golf courses away from the Old Reliable of Vilamoura. Whether you head East or West from Faro, you will find some beautiful tests of golf.
Take for example the Vila Gale Tavira Hotel which is set in the tranquil town of Tavira. From here you can take in golf at Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima. Or you can even venture to play what many count as the best course in Portugal – Monte Rei. A real treat!!
As good as the East is, the western Algarve is a really brilliant golfing hotspot. Lisbon Coast
The Lisbon Coast has long been one of Europe’s best places to take a golf break. Lisbon itself is a real treat with its quirky streets and many attractions. The town of Sintra not far from Lisbon is also a must visit with its many castes and unique history.
However for the golfer, Cascais is the destination of choice. With golf courses of the calibre of Oitavos Dunes, Penha Longa and Quinta da Marinha to name a few, you will be hooked forever. The town itself has loads of character with plenty of nightlife, fabulous restaurants and bars.
Go north of Lisbon and you will find a unique golfing landscape in the Obidos area. This is a really beautiful part of Portugal and is home to brilliant golf courses in Praia del Rey, Bom Sucesso and the award winning Royal Obidos designed by none other than Seve Ballesteros. A visit to this part of the Silver Coast is a must, with the coastline along the Praia del Rey resort being totally breath-taking. Go on, you know you want to!!
